Dixon And Ganassi Looking Strong Heading Into Qualifying
Defending NTT IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon driving the No.9 PNC Bank Honda for Chip Ganassi Racing looks strong heading into qualifying for tomorrow’s Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach.
The Iceman set the fastest time of the day on Friday, a 01:07.794s ending the session just ahead of Andretti Autosport’s Ryan Hunter Reay in the No.28 DHL Honda.
It was an equally impressive afternoon for Dixon’s team mate Felix Rosenqvist in the No.10 NTT DATA Honda as the Swede ended the day in third place with a time of 01:07.886s.
Dixon will be hoping that he can translate his performances so far this weekend into race winning pace.
The Iceman took victory here in 2015 on his way to a fourth series championship.
Speaking following practice on Friday, Dixon said:
As you can tell, every weekend, man, it’s super tight and the mix is quite heavy, so we’ll have to see what we can do and try to create a bit of a gap there.”
