Six Weeks Until The Indianapolis 500
The NTT IndyCar Series are in California this weekend for today’s Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach which will see Alexander Rossi in the No.27 NAPA Auto Parts Honda start the race from pole position for the second consecutive year.
The Californian starts the race just ahead of defending series champion Scott Dixon driving the No.9 PNC Bank Honda for Chip Ganassi Racing.
The Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach marks the final race until the Month of May festivities get underway at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The anticipation and excitement is building at the Racing Capital Of The World as the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge takes place in exactly six weeks from TODAY, that is just 42 days away.
Johnny Rutherford took his third and final Indianapolis 500 win at the age of 42 with McLaren in 1980 so it is only fitting that McLaren Racing are returning to compete in the most famous motor race in the world with Fernando Alonso next month.
It is going to be extremely interesting to see how McLaren Racing get on this year. Zak Brown, CEO of McLaren Racing is in Long Beach this weekend for the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach and has said that the company will make a decision over the summer on whether or not to compete in the NTT IndyCar Series full time with a two car entry from 2020.
