McLaren Racing CEO Zak Brown says that a decision on whether or not the company enter the NTT IndyCar Series full time in 2020 will depend in how the team perform in next month’s 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge.

Fernando Alonso will be in action at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway next week for the open test on April 24.

McLaren will be powered by Chevrolet for the most famous motor race in the world.

The NTT IndyCar Series is on the radar for McLaren and Brown says it is a matter of when it happens not if.

McLaren will run just one car in this year’s Indianapolis 500 for Alonso.

Brown has confirmed that when the team enter the NTT IndyCar Series full time it will be with two cars.

In relates news, it is looking increasingly likely that Fernando Alonso will not continue racing with Toyota Gazoo Racing in the FIA World Endurance Championship for the 2019/20 season.

If Alonso does not return to Toyota it opens the door for him to race full time in the NTT IndyCar Series with McLaren Racing for 2020.

The Spaniard has said that this is something he would be interested in doing.

It is going to be a very interesting month of May at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and everyone will be keeping an eye on the test next week.
