Dixon Hoping To Put it All Together This Weekend
Defending NTT IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon driving the No.9 PNC Bank Honda for Chip Ganassi Racing says that he hopes the team can put their tough Grand Prix of Indianapolis in the past this weekend and put everything together to deliver a win with the No.9 PNC Bank Honda.
The Iceman heads into this weekend’s race on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course in third place in the championship and speaking ahead of the event he said:
We’ve kind of been all over the place with the (INDYCAR) Grand Prix. It’s a challenging event, for sure. The first three or four races there, we qualified OK, not great, but respectable. But then had pretty lousy finishes. The last couple of races, we had really bad qualifying efforts but finished really strong on the podium both times. So hopefully this weekend we can find the right balance between qualifying and the race and put it all together for a win in the PNC Bank car.”
Felix Rosenqvist in the No.10 NTT DATA Honda is looking forward to the race here hav9ng found some interesting things in terms of set up for the weekend at the recent test here.
Speaking ahead of the race the Swede said:
We had a test at the IMS road course a little while ago and managed to find a few interesting things, notably in the area of tire management. I view that as our main priority at the moment, getting the tires to last over a racing distance and improving our long-run pace, and we seem to have taken a step towards that. The INDYCAR Grand Prix could be a race of attrition and the track has at least two proper overtaking zones, so I expect another exciting event. It’s all about getting both qualifying and the race together on the same weekend and, if we can manage that, I’m sure we’ll be up there fighting in the NTT DATA car.”
