Carlin Looking Strong Heading Into Their Second Indy 500
Carlin Racing’s Charlie Kimball told Paddock Eye on Carb Day that he was quietly confident about Sunday’s 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge.
The Trevor Carlin owned outfit have just one car in the field for the race on Sunday and Kimball says that he now has a better understanding of how the team works having been on the timing stand for the four of the opening five races this season.
The fact that Kimball has been on the stand this season should help the team for the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 on Sunday and the Californian will be able to put that experience to good use.
Kimball has a good record here at the Speedway having finished on the podium here in 2015 behind race winner Juan Pablo Montoya and Will Power.
Kimball starts tomorrow’s race from 20th on the grid and the great thing with the Indianapolis 500 is that it doesn’t matter where you start the race from as you can win from anywhere.
Kimball ended Carb Day’s final practice session in eighth place which was a great end to preparations for the 500 for the Californian.
