McLaren Racing have shelved plans to enter the NTT IndyCar Series full time in 2020 according to their CEO Zak Brown.

The news comes after the team failed to qualify for last weekend’s 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge with Fernando Alonso.

Brown said this week that the Woking based outfit will focus solely on improving their performances in Formula One.

The American has admitted that when they return to the Indianapolis 500 they will run one or two race before the Greatest Spectacle in Racing.

Brown has also suggested that the team will return with two cars and that it is not dependent on Fernando Alonso returning with them.

Honestly I am thinking they have a lot of work to do before they enter another Indy race. Not as easy as they thought.
