The organisers of the inaugural Verizon IndyCar Series event in Boston have been busy buying up domain names relating to the Grand Prix of Boston.

The race which is scheduled to take place on September 4 has received opposition from many locals objecting to the event which is scheduled to take place on a 2.2 mile street circuit around the Seaport District.

The organisers of the race have registered the domain names and however when you click on the links it redirects you to the Boston Grand Prix website. Spokesperson for the Grand Prix of Boston, Kate Norton told the Boston Globe that:

It’s a standard matter of course,

A letter has been written to the Mayor of Boston Martin J Walsh by Laurence Bishoff on behalf of the Coalition Against IndyCar Boston who told the Boston Globe:

We started with a handful [of people] at a neighborhood meeting, Dozens more have joined as people heard about it, and it continues to grow. Many more have signed up on our new website.
