Racing X’s Alice Powell took a dominant home victory as the W Series competed in Silverstone on Saturday, round 3 of the 2021 season. Powell, who started the race from pole lost the lead to Bunker Racing’s Fabienne Wohlwend and Veloce Racing’s Jamie Chadwick.
Ecurie W’s Emma Kimilainen came home in fourth place just ahead of Academy’s Nera Marti and M.Forbe’s Motorsports Beitske Visser who was sixth just ahead of Scuderia W’s Sarah Moore and Abbie Pulling who scored points on her W Series debut with Puma just ahead of Abbie Eaton of Ecurie W while Racing X’s Jessica Hawkins rounded out the top ten.
Sirin Racing’s Vicky Piria was eleventh just ahead of Veloce Racing’s Bruna Tomaselli and Marta Garcia and Sabre Cook while Irina Sidorkova came home in 15th just ahead of Ayla Agren. Miki Koyoma brought out the safety car after stopping on track. Fabienne Wohlwend took the lead early on but Powell was able to retake the lead after Wohlwend ran wide. Belen Garcia retired from the race.
Alice Powell heads to the next race in Hungary leading the championship by six points from Jamie Chadwick.
