On Sunday morning, Andretti Global’s James Roe in the No.29 Topcon Dallara had a frustrating Honda 200 at Mid-Ohio. Contact with his teammate on lap 8 of the race meant that the Irishman had to pit for repairs, which was a setback for the Kildare native. Roe started the race from 17th following a difficult qualifying on Saturday.

The resulting contact and rear wing change put Roe a lap down and he ended the race in 15th place and heads to Iowa this weekend in 9th in the INDY NXT presented by Firestone championship.

Speaking following the race, Roe said:

“It was a frustrating day. “Obviously, contact with your teammate is never what we want as a team, but that’s what happened. I had to pit to replace the front wing and that put me a lap down. Overall the No. 29 Topcon machine was mega, so thanks to the team for that. We were super strong all day and made big gains from qualifying, so we just have to take the positives from today’s pace and move on to the next.”
