McLaren Racing’s Daniel Ricciardo was happy with how his first day in the car went as the team conducted a successful shakedown of the Mercedes powered MCL35M at the Silverstone circuit on Tuesday. Speaking following the test, the Australian who joined McLaren over the off-season said that everything went very smoothly.
The Woking based outfit experienced no issues with Mercedes power unit despite recent reports from the works team that they had been experiencing issues with their power unit.
Speaking following the shakedown, Ricciardo said that the team’s aim to hit the track in Bahrain with no issues and they are happy with the initial performance of the car.
Speaking to Paddock Eye during the team’s media conference call on Monday, technical director James Key spoke about the integration of the Mercedes power unit saying that it has been a positive experience experience and everyone is working well together.
