AJ Foyt Racing Team President Larry Foyt says that it was a good two-day test for the team as the NTT IndyCar Series Spring Training event came to a close at the Thermal Club, in Thermal, California on Friday although the team need the test near the bottom of the timesheets, Foyt said that overall he is happy where they are at because they have two new drivers in the team with Santino Ferrucci and rookie Benjamin Pedersen while they also have some new engineers so it was a productive test in that regard as they were able to get some valuable time together with the drivers.
Foyt said that he is not really concerned with the pace of the test but that they managed to get through some things and they will work on things before they head to Sebring, the final test before the opening race of the season, the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg presented by RP Funding which is just one month away.
The team got some good mileage for both drivers and taking to Twitter on Saturday following the test at the Thermal Club the team tweeted:
It was good to knock the rust off after a 𝙇𝙊𝙉𝙂 offseason. Lots learned, plenty to gain, and we’re ready to get back at it in our next test in Sebring next week 👊
