I love Iowa.” “It’s always tough in INDYCAR; these guys that are about to go a lap down, they always run the leader really hard. “That’s the name of the game. It’s legal, but man, it’s a little frustrating at times. I’m going to study the tape. I’m going to be better tomorrow.”

Newgarden will attempt to do the double and claim his sixth win here on Sunday starting the race from seventh place. Scott McLaughlin in the No.3 XPEL Team Penske Chevrolet started the race from second place and that is where he finished the race and he will start race 2 on Sunday from second.

“I badly want to beat that guy, and I’m going to be trying everything I can to beat him. “But he’s the epitome of a great teammate, and I appreciate the help he’s given me.”
