Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon had a fantastic IndyCar Grand Prix of Indianapolis on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road car course on Saturday.

The Iceman started the 85 lap race from 18th place on the grid and came through the field to finish the race in second place behind Team Penske’s race winner Will Power, collecting his first podium finish of the season and his with PNC Bank as his primary sponsor.

Following the race, Dixon said it was nice to be on the podium. Dixon led the way in the final warm up session this morning and the team were able to carry that momentum into the race and has moved up to fourth in the series standings heading into the 102nd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil in two weeks time.

Dixon is just 31 points behind series leader Josef Newgarden and with double points for the Indianapolis 500, Dixon will be hoping to end the month of May with a strong performance.
