Wayne Taylor Racing’s Helio Castroneves in the No.10 Konico Minolta Acura Dpi had a great time overnight at the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona International Speedway.
The three time Indianapolis 500 winner and defending IMSA WeatherTech Champion leads the race with team mate’s Felipe Albuquerque and Andretti Autosport NTT IndyCar Series driver and 2016 Indianapolis 500 winner Alexander Rossi while Action Express Racing’s Mike Rockenfeller is second overall just ahead of Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon in the No.1 Cadillac Dpi.
Speaking in the early morning, Castroneves commented saying:
“I was like, ‘Guys, guys. Always, when there’s a new driver in the car, you’ve got to get a new tear-off,’”. “I was like completely blind. It was a restart. It was dark. I was like, ‘I need the tear-off. Right now I just need to see.’ We were able to finally get a pit stop and get a new one.”
