It has been a huge week of announcements for the NTT IndyCar Series. Firstly on Tuesday it was confirmed that NTT have been named the new entitlement sponsor to the series replacing long term partner Verizon. The telecommunications giant will remain involved in the series as title sponsor to Team Penske’s Will Power in the No.12 Chevrolet.
The multi-year deal with NTT will increase the exposure of both NTT and IndyCar around the world.
NTT have been involved in the IndyCar Series since 2014 when they joined Chip Ganassi Racing as primary sponsor to the No.10 Chevrolet of Tony Kanaan. The series also has a new logo which looks cool in this reporters opinion.
On Wednesday it was confirmed that the REV Group have become the entitlement sponsor to the race at Road America. The event has now been renamed the REV Group Grand Prix at Road America which takes place from June 20 -23.
It was also announced on Wednesday that NTT IndyCar Series tire supplier Firestone has been named as the entitlement sponsor to the 2019 season finale Firestone Grand Prix on Monterey at the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
On Friday Sam Schmidt and Ric Peterson announced that their team has changed its name to Arrow Schmidt Peterson Motorsports for 2019 as a result of an enhanced partnership with Arrow Global who have been a team partner since 2015.
The new deal sees all of Schmidt Peterson Motorsports three cars, the No.5, the No.6 and the No.7 Honda will be sponsored by Arrow Global and the cars look great.
James Hinchliffe, Marcus Ericsson and Robert Wickens were all at the team unveiling which took place at the Pepsi Centre in Denver Colorado.
