Ed Carpenter Racing’s Josef Newgarden took to his official Facebook page on Sunday night following his accident during the Firestone 600 at the Texas Motor Speedway. The American was airlifted to hospital following the crash with Dale Coyne Racing’s Conor Daly and suffered a minor fracture to his right hand as well as a fractured collarbone.

Newgarden stated:

Just give me a bit of time and I’ll be ready to kick some ass. Very happy that @conordaly22 is okay and I’ll be ready to rock soon enough. Thank you so much to everyone that helped me – our safety crew and everyone @indycar / @txmotorspeedway / Parkland Hospital. We are so fortunate to work with the best in the business. I’m gonna drink a ton of milkshakes, heal my bones and get my ass back into the car. I’m so fortunate to have so many wonderful people in my corner. See ya soon.
