Ireland’s James Rowe had a mixed race weekend at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in California over the weekend as the INDY NXT presented by Firestone had a double-header event. In race one on Saturday, Roe, in the No.29 Topcon Dallara for Andretti Global had a solid day as he came home in fifth place and speaking following the event he said:

“We needed that result. “We got boxed in a bit at the start, which made our race a little tougher than it had to be. We worked on our time, trusted the car, and let the race come to us. Happy to get a good points day for the No. 29 Topcon crew.”

While it was a solid result for Roe on Saturday, Sunday was a little different as the Kildare native suffered a mechanical issue, forcing him to retire from the race and speaking following that race he said:

“It was an unfortunate race for us today with a mechanical issue at the halfway point – that put us out of it. “As fighters do, we’ll dig in and come back strong in two weeks.”

The INDY NXT presented by Firestone championship returns in two weeks with the Honda Indy 200 at the Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course.
