Red Bull Racing Honda’s Max Verstappen made it four sessions in a row as the Dutch driver took pole position for Sunday’s Bahrain Grand Prix, the opening race of the 2021 Formula One season.
Verstappen set a fastest time of 01:28.997s and starts the race just ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas.
Charles Leclerc had a great session as he starts the race from fourth for Ferrari just ahead of Pierre Gasly. It was a great session for McLaren Racing as Daniel Ricciardo and Lando Norris start the race from sixth and seventh respectively.
Carlos Sainz starts his first race with Ferrari from eighth place while in his first race since 2018, Fernando Alonso starts ninth for Alpine.
Lance Stroll rounds out the top ten for the Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One Team.
Sergio Perez starts his first race for Red Bull from 11th just ahead of Antonio Giovinazzi and Yuki Tsunoda while Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN’s Kimi Raikkonen starts from 14th just ahead of George Russell.
Esteban Ocon starts the race from 16th just ahead of Nicholas Latifi and Sebastian Vettel who was caught out by a yellow flag.
The Haas F1 Team’s Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin round out the grid.
