Arrow McLaren had a solid opening day of testing at Sebring International Raceway on Monday. Alexander Rossi and Pato O’Ward were in action for the team and speaking following the action, Rossi said:

“It was a good day. It’s funny; we’ve been fortunate enough to do a lot of hybrid testing, but this is really only the second day with this package, so it was good to get an understanding of where it’s going to be for St. Pete. We accomplished everything that we wanted to today, and we feel confident with where we are. I’m excited to get to St. Pete and get to work.”

Pato O’Ward was in the No.6 NTT DATA Chevrolet and will be in the No.5 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet and speaking following the action he commented saying:

“Good first day here. I had a little bit of a different crew today as I was in David’s car, getting all the systems up and running, but we had a good, smooth day. Tomorrow, I’ll be back with my No. 5 crew, and it will be all about just trying to explore different areas so that we can arrive in St. Pete as strong as we can. So far, it’s been a good program.”

Arrow McLaren Team Principal Gavin Ward stated:

“It’s Sebring, so you don’t want to chase lap times too crazily here. It’s about getting through our program, making sure we learn what we need to learn to be quick when we get to St. Pete. I feel like we learned quite a lot today, and the drivers are pretty happy. All in all, a good start. We’ve got one more day here and we’ll try to learn some more.”
