Meyer Shank Racing’s Jack Harvey in the No.60 AutoNation Sirius XM Honda had a great qualifying session for Sunday’s Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park.
The Englishman will start the race from 12th place having set a fastest time of 01:09.2967s and speaking following the day’s action he said:
We’ve made it no secret that transferring to the top 12 in qualifying is one of our goals not just for this weekend, but the whole season. “We did that today. I am disappointed in myself for how the second round went. We started the lap well, but I tried to be a hero in Turn 1 and went off a little. The potential that we have is good. If we can continue that potential when we get to the track on Fridays, we would be in an even stronger position. It’s been a good day but disappointed on how it finished. We are capable of being in the Fast Six.”
Team owner Mike Shank said:
Jack did a great job today. “We are right there and not far off from getting into the Fast Six. We need to keep doing what we are doing and keep working at these kinds of results. As long as we position ourselves well for the race we can be in the top half of the field. Tomorrow will be interesting and we will work out our strategy tonight.”
