The Verizon IndyCar Series moves on to the first oval event of the 2018 season, the Phoenix Grand Prix at ISM Raceway in just over three weeks time.

Andretti Autosport’s Marco Andretti in the No.98 Bryan Herta Autosport with Curb Honda will carry a special commorative livery.

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of his grandfather Mario’s final Verizon IndyCar Series victory which came at Phoenix, Marco will drive the No.98 Oberto Beef Jerky Circle K with Curb Honda in the colours of Mario’s race winning car.

Speaking about the news Marco Andretti said:


“We’re really excited to see Oberto back on the car this year. Andretti Autosport has built a strong relationship with them and we’re happy to continue to grow the partnership
“When the idea of a throwback livery celebrating my grandfather’s final win was thrown around, Oberto was ready to get to the drawing board. The black, white and red car resembles many of my family’s race cars and was a big part of my life growing up. It’s really cool to be able to add one of my cars to that family legacy.

Circle K, a leading Canadian and US based convenience store will also appear on the car in partnership with Oberto Beef Jerky and speaking about the partnership, Francis Lapointe, vice president of Operations with Circle K Arizona commented by saying:

Marco Andretti will be hoping to build on his solid start to the 2018 Verizon IndyCar Series season in Phoenix having finished the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg in ninth place.

The Phoenix Grand Prix takes place from April 6 – 8.
