Schmidt Peterson Motorsports James Hinchcliffe put what happened to him on Sunday firmly behind him as he scored his first podium finish of the 2018 Verizon IndyCar Series season with a third place at Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama at Barber Motorsports Park on Monday.

The Mayor of HinchTown went into Monday’s rescheduled race off thee back of a solid start to the 2018 season having finished the three previous races in the top ten. Hinch now has plenty of momentum to build on heading into the Month of May.

Hinch has a great record at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway having secured his maiden Verizon P1 Award for the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil in 2016. The Canadian also finished third at the Grand Prix of Indianapolis in 2016 and he will be hoping that he can continue his good run of form during the month of May.

Hinch’s team mate and fellow Canadian Robert Wickens had a great race as he finished the event just behind the Mayor of HinchTown in fourth place.
