It was announced today that British racing legend Sir Stirling Moss has passed away following a long illness. Sir Stirling was a legend in motorsport and was extremely successful. Moss who was was born on 17th September 1929 in Kessington, London.

In 2014, I attended London Race Week in the heart of the capital. Sir Stirling was the guest of honor at the event and while I was there I spoke to Sir Stirling’s wife Lady Susie, she was lovely and offered to introduce me to Sir Stirling.

Sir Stirling was absolutely lovely and we spoke for nearly half an hour as he told me stories about his time in Formula One.

It was an absolute pleasure to meet him. I met him again at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2015 and he remembered me and remembered that I was from Dublin and asked me about Paddock Eye and how the website was going.

I send my condolences and prayers to Lady Susie and Sir Stirling’s children at this incredibly difficult time.  Rest In Peace Sir Stirling.
