ABEL Motorsports who had hoped to run RC Enerson in the 108th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge at the end of the month have ‘pulled the plug’ on their effort for this year.

A spokesperson for the team confirmed the news to Paddock Eye on Friday evening saying:

We have decided to “pull the plug” as John Brunner put it, on the Indy 500 program. A myriad of reasons, mostly involving the difficulties that RC Enerson has had finding a sponsor, but also the desire to focus all our resources on the INDY NXT by Firestone program.

The news comes after Jacob Abel scored his maiden INDY NXT presented by Firestone race win last time out at Barber Motorsports Park.
