Hyundai Motorsport have confirmed that Andrea Adamo has been named the new team director of their World Rally Championship programme.

Adamo replaces Michel Nanden who has been with the team for the past six years.

In a statement released on Twitter, Hyundai said:

We have announced a change to our senior management for the forthcoming @OfficialWRC season with Team Principal Michel Nandan departing the company after six years. #HMSGOfficial #WRC

The statement went on to say:

Hyundai Motorsport extends its sincerest thanks to Michel for his significant contribution to the team’s growth and development over the past six years, and we wish him all the best for the future. #HMSGOfficial #WRC

The team concluded by saying:

Andrea Adamo will take on the new role of Team Director, heading up our WRC activities with immediate effect, in addition to his existing duties with the i20 R5 and i30 N TCR programs. #HMSGOfficial #WRC

Nine time WRC champion Sebastian Loeb joins Hyundai on a partial programme for the 2019 season.

The 2019 FIA World Rally Championship season will have its official launch next Saturday at the Autosport International Show at Birmingham’s NEC Arena.
