Chip Ganassi Racing’s decision to a third car full time for the 2020 NTT IndyCar Series season gives the team a wonderful opportunity for a successful year.
It was announced on Tuesday that Sweden’s Marcus Ericsson will join five time series champion Scott Dixon and his countryman Felix Rosenqvist and will drive the No.8 Honda. It will be the first time since 2017 that Ganassi will run more than two cars full time.
In 2017, Chip Ganassi Racing fielded four cars with Scott Dixon in the No.9 NTT DATA Honda, Tony Kanaan in the No.10 NTT DATA Honda, Charlie Kimball in the No.83 Tresiba Honda and Max Chilton in the No.8 Gallagher Honda.
The addition of a third car for Ganassi is great news for the health of the NTT IndyCar Series which continues to go from strength to strength.
