AJ Foyt Racing announced on Thursday that they have have renewed their sponsorship agreement with Al-Fe Heat Treating ahead of the start of the 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series season which gets underway with the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg next weekend.
It is the seventh year of the company’s involvement with AJ Foyt Racing’s and as part of the extended partnership the Al-Fe Heat Treating logo will appear on the No.4 ABC Supply Co Chevrolet’s of Conor Daly in the No.4 and Carlos Munoz’s No.14. Speaking about the announcement, Kurt Westman the founder and president of Al-Fe Heat Treating commented by saying:
The 2017 season looks to be an exciting and challenging one for Foyt Racing and we at Al-Fe Heat Treating wouldn’t miss it for anything. New drivers, new cars, the best crews in INDYCAR and the best team owners – we continue to be privileged to be part of the most historical race team in auto sports. A.J. (Foyt, team owner), Larry (Foyt, team president) and the entire team have made the Al-Fe team friends, made us feel welcome and a part of the INDYCAR experience. They have my many thanks.
The Indiana based organisation will support AJ Foyt Racing for the entire 2017 Verizon IndyCar Series season including the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil which takes place on May 28.
In previous years, AJ Foyt Racing have run a third car at the Indianapolis 500, Conor Daly made his debut with the team at the 2013 event, however due to their restructuring over the winter the Texas/Indianapolis based team will not run a third car this year. Speaking about the extension of the Al-Fe Heat Treating, AJ Foyt, founder of AJ Foyt Enterprises commented by saying:
