Alfa Romeo are in Formula One long term according to their team principal Frederic Vasseur.

Vasseur’s comments come amid speculation that the Alfa were set to pull their sponsorship of the team following a poor 2019 season which saw them finish in eighth place in the championship on 57 points.

Vasseur has also confirmed that he received the blessing of former team principal and team founder Peter Sauber about the name change when Alfa came on board with the team.

The Hinwil based outfit will field an unchanged driver line up in 2020 with Kimi Raikkonen and Antonio Giovinazzi remaining with the team.
