Dale Coyne Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais was in Indianapolis on Tuesday for his final medical check following his crash during qualifying for the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil in May.
The Frenchman tweeted:
Some of you might wonder why I was in Indy today… Well, I had the final appointment with Doc and guess what? All clear, let’s go racing!
Bourdais was back behind the wheel of his No.18 Dale Coyne Racing Honda for the first time since May just over two weeks ago at the Mid-Ohio Sports car course.
It was initially thought that Bourdais could make a come back for the IndyCar Grand Prix at The Glen next month and that would appear to still be the target as it is unlikely that Coyne would want to rush Bourdais back in the car particularly as we have three races in the next three weeks.
