Verizon IndyCar Series veteran Oriol Servia believes that his countryman Fernando Alonso’s decision to compete in the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil later this month is comparable to Bill Gates turning up at the Ape Christmas party.
Alonso will drive the number 29 Dallara Honda in a joint Indy 500 entry between Verizon IndyCar Series team Andretti Autosport and McLaren, Alonso’s Formula One team.
Speaking about the move, Servia stated:
It’s like Bill Gates showing up at the Apple Christmas party instead of his own, because he knows it’s going to be cooler
Servia, who will race with Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing in the No.16 Honda as team mate to Graham Rahal this month said that when he heard the news, about Alonso it was the biggest motorsport shock he has had in 30 years.
The pair wull be on track together for the first on Monday when practice for the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil officially gets underway at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
