Fernando Alonso has insisted that he had no input in the management changes that have taken place at McLaren from this week.

It was announced on Wednesday that Eric Boullier who joined the team in 2014 has resigned with immediate affect and speaking ahead of this weekend’s British Grand Prix at the Silverstone circuit, Alonso said that he found out the same way as his team mate Stoffel Vandoorne when they were told about the changes.

Alonso did say however he was consulted about Gil De Ferran’s appointment to the role of Sporting Director having known the Brazilian for a year while McLaren CEO Zak Brown has known the 2003 Indianapolis 500 winner for over 20 years.

Alonso has yet to decide what he is going to do next season with his current McLaren contract due to expire at the end of the end of the current season.
