Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon believes that Fernando Alonso has all the ingredients necessary to challenge for victory in next weekend’s 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil but is aiming to beat him.
Speaking during a press conference on Wednesday, Dixon said he was impressed with Alonso’s progress.
Dixon is aiming to win his second Indianapolis 500 after taking victory in 2008 and is excited to have his family with him for the race next weekend.
The Iceman who goes into the race in second place in the Verizon IndyCar Series points standings just ten points behind leader Simon Pagenud is hoping that everything can come together for Ganassi and Honda.
Dixon has come close to winning races this season but the 500 is the big one for him.
