Double Formula One world champion Fernando Alonso who is competing in his first World Endurance Championship event this weekend, starting the Six Hours of Spa with Toyota Gazoo Racing from pole position admitted to reports in Belgium that he misses Indianapolis.

The McLaren driver who competed in his first Indianapolis 500 in the No.29 McLaren Andretti Autosport Honda said that he has made and maintained many friendships in the Verizon IndyCar Series and has been speaking with various team engineers who tell him that the new aero kit races well.

Alonso said that he is looking forward to testing the new Verizon IndyCar Series aero kit but has not put a time frame on any such test due to his already crowded racing schedule.

Alonso also confirmed that he has been watching every session at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway that he can.
