McLaren Renault’s Fernando Alonso say he is not interested in a move to the ABB FIA Formula E championship for the 2019/20 season despite suggestions the all electric series are trying to get the double Formula One world champion to join the series.
The Spaniaed who has two Grand Prix left in his Formula One career before retiring from the sport already has an extremely busy 2019 racing schedule.
Alonso is currently leading the FIA World Endurance Championship standing with Toyota Gazoo Racing as the series gets ready for the Six Hours of Shanghai next weekend.
Alonso is tied into a contract with Toyota for the 2019/20 season and will compete in the 2019 24 Hours of LeMans.
Alonso has already ruled out a full-time move to IndyCar in 2019 but has left the door open for a possible return to the Indianapolis 500 next season with McLaren CEO Zak Brown saying that it depends on Alonso’s 2019 schedule as to whether or not he competes in the race or not.
