McLaren Racing NTT IndyCar Series driver Fernando Alonso who will contest the 103rd running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge on May 26 has refused to rule out moving to the NTT IndyCar Series full time.

The double Formula One world champion, LeMans winner and Rolex 24 Hour winner said that he came close to doing a full time season in the NTT IndyCar Series this year but for his WEC commitments with Toyota Gazoo Racing.

Alonso was at Texas Motor Speedway on Tuesday to test the brand new McLaren Racing NTT IndyCar and was extremely happy with how the test went.

McLaren Racing will use the Indianapolis 500 as a baseline as to whether or not is viable for them to run a full time NTT IndyCar Series programme in 2020.
