McLaren Executive Director Zak Brown says that Fernando Alonso is taking his Indianapolis 500 experience one day at a time.
Speaking to Paddock Eye during a Verizon IndyCar Series Teleconference, Brown said that Alonso wants to win the race but so do the 32 other drivers on the grid. Alonso will start the 101st running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by PennGrade Motor Oil from fifth place in grid.
The Spaniard has been extremely quick during the month of May but Brown believes that several drivers including Alonso have a chance to win the race on Sunday.
Paddock Eye also asked Brown if he felt Formula One could learn from IndyCar in terms of fan engagement to which he replied that he has communicated with the new management of Formula One who have some great ideas of their own.
Brown said he was particularly impressed with how the Verizon IndyCar Series streamed Fernado’s initial test at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
