Toyota Gazoo Racing’s Fernando Alonso took victory in his first World Endurance Championship event, the Six Hours of Spa at the Spa Francorchomps circuit in Belgium.

The Spaniard who started the race from pole position in the No.8 Toyota LMP1 Hybrid lead a Toyota 1-2 finish ending the event just ahead of his Toyota team mate’s, former Formula One driver Kazuki Nakajima and former IndyCar driver Mike Conway.

The victory was Alonso’s first major win in motorsport since the 2013 Chinese Grand Prix.
