The NTT IndyCar Series were at Texas Motor Speedway last weekend for the DXC Technology 600 where there was plenty of on track action.

Team Penske’s Josef Newgarden took victory just ahead of Alexander Rossi and Graham Rahal.

The Monater Energy NASCAR Cup Series were were at Michigan International Speedway where Team Penske’s Joey Logano took victory just ahead of Kurt Busch and Martin Truex Jr.

It has been suggested that it is time for the NTT IndyCar Series and the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series to do a double header weekend, this is something however that the NTT IndyCar Series does not need and such a move would only be beneficial to the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series due to the popularity and growth that the NTT IndyCar Series is currently experiencing.

Speaking to the Indy Star in a recent interview, Hulman and Company owners of IndyCar and the Indianapolis Motor Speedway CEO Mark Miles said:

I feel like there is a lot of momentum (behind it). “It’s certainly not a new idea. I haven’t had any direct conversations with (NASCAR) about it recently, so we’re not any closer to getting it done than we were previously.

“I think making it happen is a bit of a longshot.”

The NTT IndyCar Series is currently experiencing a great time of growth with new teams and drivers joining the sport along with the possibility of international races makes the series extremely attractive to new partners and this is why the sport are focused on this area rather than a gimmick of a double header with NASCAR.
