Chip Ganassi Racing’s Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Honda ended the day as the second fastest driver with the Iceman setting a fastest speed of 226.329MPH.

Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Takuma Sato made it three Honda powered cars in the top three positions in his No.30 MiJack/Panasonic Honda as the defending Indianapolis 500 winner set a fastest speed of 226.108MPH ending the day just ahead of Verizon IndyCar Series rookie Robert Wickens in the No.6 Lucas Oil Honda for Schmidt Peterson Motorsports.

It was a fantastic day for Carlin Racing’s Charlie Kimball in the No.23 Chevrolet with a speed of 225.887MPH.

AJ Foyt Racing’s Tony Kanaan ended the session in sixth place despite a fuel sensor problem in his No.14 ABC Supply Chevrolet with a 225.740MPH. It was a great day for Harding Racing’s Gabby Chaves in the No.88 Harding Group Chevrolet was seventh fastest with a speed of 225.475MPH.

Ed Carpenter Racing’s team owner Ed Carpenter in the No.20 Fuzzy’s Vodka Chevrolet was eighth fastest just ahead of Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Oriol Servia while Dreyer and Reinbold Racing’s Sage Karam rounded out the top ten with a speed of 224.887MPH.

Defending series champion Josef Newgarden was the fastest Penske in 11th place in his No.1 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet.

Danica Patrick had a great day in the No.13 Chevrolet for Ed Carpenter Racing as she ended the day in 12th place with a fastest speed of 224.570MPH completing 85 laps.

Carlos Munoz in the No.29 Ruoff Home Mortgages Honda for Andretti Autosport was 13th fastest just ahead of Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Jay Howard who was just behind Ed Carpenter Racing’s Spencer Pigot who was 14th.

Matheus ‘Matt’ Leist set the 16th fastest time of the day with a speed of 224.507MPH. Max Chilton was 17th fastest for Carlin Racing. Three time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves ended the day in 18th place in the No.3 Pennzoil Team Penske Chevrolet just ahead of 2016 Indy 500 winner Alexander Rossi who set a fastest speed of 224.213MPH in the No.27 NAPA Auto Parts Honda.

JR Hildebrand was 20th for in the No.66 Dreyer and Reinbold Chevrolet with a 224.128MPH.

Team Penske’s Will Power was 21st fastest in the No.12 Verizon Chevrolet with Ryan Hunter Reay in 22nd place in the No.28 DHL Honda for Andretti Autosport.

Meyer/Shank Racing with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports Jack Harvey in the No.60 AutoNation Sirius XM Honda was 23rd fastest with a speed of 223.923MPH ending the day just ahead of 2016 Verizon IndyCar Series champion Simon Pagenaud in the No.22 Menards Chevrolet.

Pippa Mann was 25th for Dale Coyne Racing just ahead of Andretti Autosport’s Zach Veach in the No.26 Relay Honda.

Ed Jones was 27th fastest in the No.10 NTT DATA Honda for Chip Ganassi Racing just ahead of Juncos Racing’s Kyle Kaiser in the No.32 Chevrolet. Schmidt Peterson Motorsports James Hinchcliffe in the No.5 Arrow Electronics Honda who completed 129 laps, the most of any driver today was 29th fastest.

Vasser Sullivan Racing with Dale Coyne Racing’s Sebastien Bourdais in the No.18 SealMaster Honda was 30th with a speed of 223.145MPH ending the day just ahead of his team mate Conor Daly in the No.17 United States Air Force Honda.

Stefan Wilson was 32nd fastest for Andretti Autosport in the No.25 DrivenToSaveLives Honda just ahead of James Davison. Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing’s Graham Rahal in the No.15 United Rentals Honda was 34th while Dale Coyne Racing’s Zachary Claman DeMelo rounded out the order in 35th place in the No.19 Paysafe Honda.
