Andretti Global heads into a new era of NTT INDYCAR SERIES racing this weekend at the Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course off the back of a podium finish for Colton Herta who finished the Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey at WeatherTech Raceway in second place. The NTT INDYCAR SERIES will introduce their new hybrid system this weekend, and looking ahead to the race weekend, Herta said:

“It’s always great to be back at Mid-Ohio. After a podium finish at Laguna Seca, I’m feeling confident taking on another road circuit. It’s also an exciting weekend ahead for INDYCAR as we debut the hybrid system. I have some memorable moments at Mid-Ohio and can’t wait to see how the hybrid handles this track.”

Kyle Kirkwood in the No.27 AutoNation Honda had a great race in California last time out when he finished fifth and looking ahead to the race this weekend he said:

“Mid-Ohio is my favorite road course on the calendar. It’s one that I enjoy returning to each year and I had a lot of success at the track when I worked my way up the Road to Indy ladder. With the repaved road course, we are expecting the speeds at Mid-Ohio to be much greater, but we know that we can adapt to it quickly. We’re also looking forward to integrating the hybrid system this weekend.”

Marcus Ericsson is looking forward to the race this weekend saying:

“Mid-Ohio is a very technical and flowy road course. It’s a fun track to drive, especially when you get that sweet spot in the car balance. Overall, I’m looking forward to having a strong weekend as we debut the new hybrid system. The team has been working hard to get ready for the weekend, and I am excited to be part of this exciting time in INDYCAR.”

Andretti Global COO Rob Edwards said:

“Mid-Ohio marks the halfway point of the season and starts a run of four races over three weeks as we head towards the Olympic break. Mid-Ohio is also the last of a run of three permanent road course races until Portland in August. While all three Andretti cars have shown good speed at Road America and Laguna Seca, we have yet to stand on the top of the podium. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the Fourth of July weekend than with the taste of champagne.”
