Andretti Global, the parent company of the Andretti Autosport teams announcement this week that they have partnered with General Motors brand Cadillac for an F1 entry ticks all of the boxes for the sport.

Formula One’s popularity in the United States has ballooned in recent yeas through the hugely successful Netflix – Drive To Survive documentary series.

The sport will have three races in the U.S this year with the Circuit of the Americas, Miami and the new for 2023, Las Vegas race.

There is an existing team with Haas but the sport has not seen an American driver since Alexander Rossi with Caterham a number of years ago.

Andretti Global has all of the infrastructure in place with the ground broken recently on their new Fishers racing technology centre.

Andretti will also have a European HQ in the U.K.

Paddock Eye understands that the team has also lined up Colton Herta to make a move to Formula One before a return to IndyCar.

It will be interesting to see what happens over the coming months in relation to the Andretti F1 bid.
