FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem says that the prospect of manufacturers like GM and Cadillac coming into Formula One should be encouraged as it adds diversity to the sport.

There has been criticism of Andretti Global’s announcement this week that they have teamed up with General Motors for a potential Formula One entry.

Ben Sulayem says however that these announcements should be supported because it has the potential to bring in new manufacturers and team owners like Andretti and GM to the sport which increase the value and marketability of the sport.
