Andretti Autosport Chairman and owner Michael Andretti said he is so happy for everyone on the No.27 AutoNation Honda team after Kyle Kirkwood picked his second career NTT INDYCAR SERIES victory and his second of the season on Sunday on the streets of Nashville.

Starting the race from eighth place, the Jupiter native made a solid start to the race and came home just 0.7s ahead of Scott McLaughlin, having led 34 of the 80-lap race to claim his second street course win following his win at Long Beach earlier this season. Kirkwood is now in ninth place in the championship on 290 points.

Speaking following the race in Nashville on Sunday, Andretti said:

“We’ve been fast all year and something has always seemed to go wrong. The 27-car made it today and I’m so happy for everybody on the team – AutoNation and Honda. It’s been a while, so it’s good to get back here. When Kyle drove for us in the INDY NXT series, we knew he was special. He’s an overall driver. He’s well-rounded, he’s very smart, quick. He knows when to push and when not too. He’s the real deal and I’m really happy for him and the AutoNation team today.”

Honda PerformaDevelopment celebrated their eighth win of the season and speaking following the race, Rebecca Johnson (Senior Manager and Director of Production, Honda Performance Development) on today’s Honda win in Nashville:

“Another great weekend in Nashville for Honda and HPD! Congratulations to Kyle Kirkwood and everyone at Andretti Autosport on
another excellent win. It’s really gratifying to keep our unbeaten streak going here in Music City, and sweep all five temporary street circuits this season. Thanks to everyone at HPD, and let’s keep up the hard work as we enter the final stretch of the 2023 season.”
