Andretti Autosport team owner Michael Andretti says that he Is keen to see what James Hinchcliffe can do in the final three races of the 2020 NTT IndyCar Series season starting with this weekend’s doubleheader Harvest Grand Prix double-header at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course which gets underway on Friday.
Andretti Autosport announced last week that James Hinchcliffe will drive in place of Zach Veach in the No.26 Gainbridge Honda for the remainder of the season after Veach agreed to relinquish his driving duties for the team.
The Mayor of HinchTown has completed a partial schedule with Andretti Autosport driving the No.29 Genesys Honda and scored the team’s best result in the 104th running of the Indianapolis 500 presented by Gainbridge on August 23 where he finished in seventh place.
Speaking at the time of the announcement, Michael Andretti said:
It’s always unfortunate to have to change drivers this far into a season, but we have to look at finishing the year the best we can for the 26 team and start evaluating and looking at options for 2021. James has an existing relationship with our team that we’d love to build on and it makes the most sense for him to step in for these last three races. We are looking forward to seeing what he can do.
