Andretti Autosport look set to expand to running five cars full time in the NTT IndyCar Series in 2020.
Reports from the US this week suggest that Michael Andretti’s outfit have everything in place for a fifth car in 2020.
Paddock Eye understands that the fifth car was originally earmarked for McLaren Racing but when Andretti extended their partnership with Honda that put paid to such a partnership.
Paddock Eye understands that Conor Daly could be set to return to the NTT IndyCar Series in 2020 with support from the United Dtates Air Force and other personal sponsors he will bring to the team.
Daly has run a partial NTT IndyCar Series schedule in 2019 split between Andretti Autosport where he drove in the Indianapolis 500 and finished in the top ten and Carlin Racing.
Daly drove for Carlin in Pocono last weekend in the No.59 Gallagher Chevrolet while he is also competing for the team at World Wide Technology Raceway tonight.
Daly will be back with Andretti Autosport for the final race of the season, the Firestone Grand Prix of Monterey at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca on September 22.
