Andretti Autosport team owner and CEO Michael Andretti says he hopes to bring James Hinchcliffe back to the NTT IndyCar Series full time in 2021 following his partial programme in 2020.
The Mayor of HinchTown competed in the No.29 Genesys Honda this year before taking over the No.26 Gainbridge Honda from Zach Veach for the final three races of the season.
Speaking to Motorsport.com ahead of the final race of the season, the Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg, Andretti said he hopes Hinch returns to the team next year.
Andretti also confirmed he is close to securing an agreement with DHL that will see Ryan Hunter-Reay continue in the No.28 Honda.
It has been reported following his 9ne victory this season, Gainbridge have decided to align with Colton Herta in the No.88 Andretti Harding Steinbrenner Autosport Honda.
Alexander Rossi is locked in for 2021 as are Marco Andretti and Colton Herta.
