Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel has backed team principal Maurizio Arrivabene to turn the Italian outfits luck around.
Arrivabene has been under intense pressure this season with recent reports the Italian will be replaced next year, reports that Ferrari chairman Sergio Marchionne denying.
Speaking ahead of this weekend’s Mexican Grand Prix, Vettel who is currently second in the Driver’s championship commented by saying:
“Look at where Ferrari was after 2014. He [Arrivabene] is the key person for changing that, so I think he is the right man” #MexicoGP
Ferrari who have not won a Constructors championship since 2008 lost out on the title to Mercedes for the fourth season in a row with the Silver Arrows having wrapped up the 2017 title last weekend in the USA.
Three time Formula One world championship Lewis Hamilton is on the verge of winning his fourth title this weekend. The Englishman can join Vettel as a four time champion in Mexico if he finishes in the top five on Sunday regardless of what Vettel does.
Ferrari recently confirmed that they will field an unchanged line-up in 2018 with Kimi Raikkonen staying with the Prancing Horse alongside Vettel.
