Ferrari Team Principal Maurizio Arrivabene is set to leave the team at the end of the season according to former team owner turned Channel 4 F1 analyst Eddie Jordan.

Speaking during Saturday’s qualifying coverage for Sunday’s United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas, Jordan said that he has been told by a source close to the story that Arrivabene will be replaced as Ferrari team principal next season.

Arrivabene was appointed to the of Team Principal at Ferrari on November 23 2014, the day after the conclusion of the 2014 Formula One season. Arrivabene replaced Marco Mattiacci.

Ferrari head into today’s race with Sebastian Vettel who starts the race on the front row alongside pole sitter Lewis Hamilton, 59 points behind the Mercedes drivers. If Hamilton wins the race and Vettel comes home in sixth or lower, Hamilton will be world champion.
