The Aston Martin Cogizant Formula One has informed the FIA of their intention to appeal Sebastian Vettel’s disqualification from second place in Sunday’s Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring for failing to provide an adequate fuel sample following the race. The team has until Thursday to lodge its appeal.

The FIA published the official race results of the Hungarian Grand Prix late on Sunday night with Sebastian Vettel still in second place however, this result is provisional pending the outcome of Aston Martin’s appeal.

Article 6.6.2 of the Formula One technical regulations state that each competitor must provide a one litre fuel sample following the race which the Aston Martin Cognizant F1 Team failed to do.
