The NTT INDYCAR SERIES heads back home again in Indiana this weekend for the GMR Grand Prix of Indianapolis on the IMS road course which takes place on Saturday.
The race is the warmup for the Greatest Spectacle In Racing which takes place on Sunday, May 28.
Colton Herta in the No.26 Gainbridge Honda took victory here last year and is looking to continue Andretti Autosport’s strong start to the 2023 season.
The GMR Grand Prix won’t really give us an insight into who will be strong for the 500 due to road course however it will be an extremely exciting race.
Practice for the Greatest Spectacle In Racing will get underway a week from today.
One driver to look out for this weekend is six-time NTT INDYCAR SERIES champion Scott Dixon in the No.9 PNC Bank Chip Ganassi Racing Honda who will be looking to challenge for victory this weekend.
Team Penske will also be looking for a solid race this weekend after a strong start for the team with Josef Newgarden and Scott McLaughlin having taken victories so far this season.
Chip Ganassi Racing’s Marcus Ericsson in the No.8 Huski Chocolate Honda won the season-opening Firestone Grand Prix of St Petersburg while Kyle Kirkwood took his first career victory in Long Beach last month.
It will also be interesting to see how Arrow McLaren get on this weekend having had a solid start to the seasoncwith Pato O’Ward currently in second place just three points behind Marcus Ericsson.
